RELIEF PAINTINGS 2007-2012

To express my feelings about the tumultuous aspects of contemporary life, including sensory overload, multi-tasking and constant reordering, the solution was to escape the confinement of the rectangle.  My practice gravitated toward working with a wood relief technique which allows these abstractions to have more movement as they explode out from their rectangular bases.  Bridging anxiety and humor, these images span and capture our contemporary moment..
