RELIEF PAINTINGS 2008-2012 Oil on wood
To express what I was feeling about the tumultuous state of contemporary life - bombarded with input, juxtapositions, and multi-tasking - I found I needed to break out of the confinement of the rectangle. To this end, employing a wood relief technique allowed the abstractions to have more movement and explode out of their rectangular base. Connecting with the nervous energy I felt all around, while also fun and funny, these images captured it all.
