Didn’t follow the straight-line path.

Came to NYC from Philadelphia.  Was in fashion first, designing.  Discovered painting and blew off my successful business to make art. Don’t regret a thing.  I love painting and drawing and collage.  Someone recently asked me, “Why must you make art?”  I responded that it’s a genetic, compulsive need.   My mother and father were both artistic, but that generation could not imagine such a life.  It makes sense to me.

After leaving the fashion world, I went to the NY Studio School for a while, and then studied painting and drawing at the Art Students League on 57th Street, when many galleries were still there.  Looking at art was a big part of my education.  Spent an intensive two years there drawing and painting 8 hours a day.  Next move was to set up a studio and begin my personal journey through art. I started exhibiting my artwork in 1980 and have been included in many shows in various galleries since then.

Living in NYC feeds this passion, so much stimulation. Love living here
